SLIDELL — Andrea Duhon loves math and dance.
As the wife of Salmen graduate and NBA player Chris Duhon, Andrea has used her passion of dance, though, to give back to the Slidell community.
Andrea recently graduated with her PhD in mathematics, but was formerly a professional dancer. For three years now, she has visited Slidell with Chris and held a free dance clinic for kids in Slidell and the surrounding areas.
This year over 200 campers attended the Thriple Threat Camp. Andrea and a team of volunteer coaches provided basic training in technique and choreography to prepare campers for participation in school teams at the middle and high school level. The camp was first created as a service for the members of the Boys & Girls Club of Slidell; however, partnering with St. Tammany Jr. High has allowed the camp to expand and offer the same opportunities to many others.
Eight students were chosen as all-stars from the camp and performed at Chris’ scholarship dinner.
