Mary Louise Galatas Fraiche was born on December 10, 1931, and passed away on November 6, 2016.
Mary died peacefully in her sleep at the Ocean Springs nursing Center. She was born in Slidell, Louisiana and as a follower of Jesus Christ she was a loyal Catholic.
She will be remembered for her deep love of family and natural ability to make people laugh and feel special.
She and her husband raised three children in Metairie, La., and was lovingly known as “Granny or GG.”
In addition to her love of family, she had a heart for the Sandia Mtns. which moved her to Albuquerque, NM to live near one of her brothers and his family. Later as she aged, she went to live with her daughter in Fayetteville, AR, then to Ocean Springs to get back to Slidell roots and New Orleans family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Lillian Galatas; and siblings Junior and Margie Galatas.
Survivors include her ex-husband, Edward Fraiche, Jr. (Linda); children, Laurie Fraiche Flory (David), Edward “Buddy” Fraiche III (Julie), Theodore “Ted” Fraiche (Coleen); siblings, Donald Melville, Rold, Allen, and Sandy; grandchildren, Tony, Kevin, Mallory, Lauren, Eric, and Sydney; great-grandchildren, Tony, Brooke, Christian, Madi, and Leah; and special niece, Brenda.
Family and friend will gather to celebrate her life on Friday, November 11 at 510 Turquoise in New Orleans from 4 to 7 p.m.

Richard “Rick” Bernard Glaser, of Slidell, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016.
He was 75 years old.
He was the beloved husband of Angelina C. Glaser; father of Teri and Sandy; and brother of the late Mark Glaser;
He is also survived by five grandchildren, Allison, Eric, Jacob, Abby and Max.
He was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a retired Physical Education Teacher at the Commack School District on Long Island, N.Y.
Memorial services were held at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 910 Cross Gates Blvd., Slidell, on Monday, Nov. 7.

Elizabeth “Betty” Boyce Young, of Slidell, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2016.
She was 94 years old.
She was the beloved wife of the late Ray J. Young, Sr.; mother of Kathy M. Young and the late Ray J. Young, Jr. (Cyndy); daughter of the late Frank M. Boyce and Elizabeth Austen Boyce; and sister of the late Frank Boyce III.
She is also survived by grandchildren, Sean and Jared Young; and great-grandchildren, Ian, Quinn, Lola, Lily, Riley.
A graduate of Reagan High School in Houston, Tx., and she was a former Director on the Board of the Louisiana Women’s Bowling Association.
She retired from the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development in Washington, D.C.
She retired, with her husband Ray, to Eden Isles in 1984, where she served as Director of the Eden Isles Security Committee.

Kenneth Valentine Comeaux, of Slidell, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016.
He was 81 years old.
He was the beloved husband of Helen Savoie for the past 41 years; father of Keith Comeaux (Lisa), Kerry Comeaux (Lisa), Leasa Campbell, Deanna Comeaux, Michele Comeaux and Denise Comeaux; and brother of Sherryl Benbow.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII and Korea.
He was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Slidell.
He was a founding member and former Captain of the Krewe of Bilge.
Graveside services were held at the Southeast La. Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham Drive, Slidell, on Monday, November 7.
Charles J. Fox died peacefully in his sleep Oct. 30th 2016 in Slidell La.
He was 94 years old.
Charles “Charlie” Fox was born Nov. 16, 1921, in New Roads, Louisiana to Clarence W. Fox and Laura Laplace Fox.
Life in rural Louisiana the 1920s and 30s was tough because this was during the Great Depression and also the historic devastating flood of 1927, but Charlie thrived as a young man, graduated high school and was determined to make a good life for himself.
Charlie joined the US Marine Corp in 1943, as part the 5th Marines 3rd Battalion, 26th Regiment, H Company during World War II. He was part of the landing force during the battle of Iwo Jima. For his bravery and heroic actions in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds, Charlie was awarded the Bronze Star.
After the war, Charlie returned to the New Orleans area and resumed life with his wife Dottie and young son Charles Jr.
Charlie worked in the transportation industry and helped implement many advancements in his 40-plus year career at McClean Trucking.
Charlie lived a full and productive life, raising a large family, volunteering at his local churches and helping his fellow man in times of need. He truly loved life and enjoyed fishing, following sports especially the New Orleans Saints.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clarence and John, wives Dottie, Jane, Ruby and Mary. He is survived by his children, Charles Fox Jr., Albert B. Cordes Jr., Alison Steele, Brett Cordes, Kathy Coleman, Brian Cordes, Scott Fox, Kim Fox and Laura Breland; 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Charlie will be dearly missed but will always live on in the hearts of his family.
Funeral services were held on Nov. 4 at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell.
Burial was in Biloxi National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Catherine’s Hospice are welcomed.
Daniel Christian Hill, a longtime resident of Slidell, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016, in Houston, Texas.
He was 24 years old.
He is the son of Donald G. Hill, and Crystal Whitney Ballestas; and brother of David A. Hill.

Mark R. Johnson Jr., of Slidell, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016.
He was 39 years old.
He was the father of Mark Jason Johnson, Tyler Cameron Johnson, Jeremy David Johnson; fiance’ of Deanna Johnson; son of Mark R. Johnson Sr. and E. Harriet Johnson; grandson of J.N. Johnson, and Doris Weems; and brother of Lisa Johnson.
