TERRY ANNE HALL BROWN

Terry Anne Hall Brown, a longtime resident of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on November 14, 2021 at the age of 82. She was born in Enterprise, Alabama, on September 17, 1939 to her loving parents, the late Marian Eloise Terry Hall and Carl Clayton Hall. Terry grew up a military brat, as her dad was a career Army Officer. Her father was stationed in many different places over the years, including Germany, which always held a special place in her heart.
Terry graduated from Washington-Lee High School with the Class of 1957. She married her first husband in 1960 and moved to Nashville, Tennessee. They had two children. Terry divorced in 1974 and moved to New Orleans, Louisiana. Terry worked at Martin Marietta, where she assisted on several projects during her time there, including a presentation to NASA on the investigation of the Challenger accident. It was at Martin Marietta where she met and married the love of her life, Dale Brown. Dale had three children from a previous marriage. Terry and Dale were married in 1977 and moved to Slidell, Louisiana in 1978. Terry loved Slidell with all her heart. As she got older and her children tried to get her to move closer to them, it was always Terry’s wish to stay in Slidell. Happily, she was able to stay here and spent over 40 years in the home she and Dale lived in.
Terry enjoyed staying active in the community. She volunteered at Slidell Memorial Hospital and was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church, where she served on the Altar Guild for many years. She was a very spiritual woman and her church, Christ Episcopal, was very important to her. Terry was also an avid Bridge player and animal lover. Her dogs, Sophie and Obie, were her pride and joy. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Terry is the beloved spouse of 34 years to the late Leslie Dale Brown; cherished mother of Marian McGrath Ramsey (Shawn), William McGrath, Alan Brown, Jacqueline Allen, and Cheryl Brown Anderson; proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren and great-grandmother of four great-grandchildren; and caring sister of the late Lynda Hall Rutledge.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Audubon Funeral Home in Slidell. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church in Slidell. Terry will be laid to rest at the church cemetery following services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Animal Assistance League of Slidell are preferred. Memories and condolences may be expressed at www.AudubonFuneralHome.com
