St. Paul’s hosts parish tournament; local teams place at annual match

COVINGTON — St. Paul’s school won the St.?Tammany?Parish wresting competition with 236 points. The tourney was held at St. Paul’s.
Fontainebleau came in a close second with 228 points, and Madeville finished in third place with 132 points.
Pearl River took fourth place with 104 points while Covington ended up in fifth with 62 points, and Northshore rounded out the teams with 36 points for sixth place.
Garrin Pelligrin, 138 lbs. from Mandeville, won the Paul Fradella Outstanding Wrestler award. The award is named after long time Northshore coach and now Mandeville High administrator Paul Fradella, considered the “Father of Northshore wrestling.” The idea of creating a northshore league was his idea back in the day.
