SHIRLEY ‘DIANE’ WILLIAMS PACE

Shirley “Diane” Williams Pace was born in Jackson, Mississippi on September 8, 1950 and passed away on September 11, 2022. She was 72 years old.
Diane lived most of her life in Slidell, Louisiana and was a graduate of Slidell High School, Class of 1968. She was a Notary Public and title clerk, working all of her life in the auto industry. One of her first jobs was at Robert Levis Chevrolet and for the last 30 years, was an employee and office manager at Louisiana Auto Title Bureau.
She was talented on many levels. Whether it was crochet or cross-stitch, pen and ink or painting, her creativity impressed us all.
Diane lived life simply and family was the most important thing to her. She was a beautiful soul who put everyone’s needs before her own. She was quick to laugh, selfless to a fault, and she loved deeply. Her bright smile and loving compassion will be missed immensely.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Frances Louise Mitchell and Frank G Williams, and her beloved “Sissy,” Kathy Cantrell (Richard). She is survived by her son, Matthew Pace; her grandchildren, Mya DiMarco, Isabel and Zachary Pace, and Jazlyn Hadley; and her brother and “best bud,” Robert “Bob” White (Cathy).
There will be a Celebration of Life for Diane on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at St. Genevieve Catholic Church located at 58203 LA-433 in Slidell, LA 70460. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. followed by Mass at 10 a.m. Repast will take place in the church hall following Mass.

Paul Simeon Titus, Jr., age 62, of Slidell, LA, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
He loved LSU and the Saints, and was a member of the Krewe of Thoth, the Irish Channel St. Patrick’s Club and the Krewe of Bilge.
He worked for National Canal Villere and later became an electrician for H. Rocker Electric.

Marie “Aurora” Cox Epton, age 98, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
A native of New Orleans, she worked as an administrator with Higgins Marine during World War II, and later held clerical positions in addition to being a homemaker.
She was a lifelong Catholic.
Fred Zoller, Sr., age 74, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
A native of Alexandria, LA, he served in the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals.

Rev. Tommy R. Bergeron, Sr., age 84, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022.
Born in Houma, LA, he became an ordained United Methodist minister who served across southern Louisiana for 40 years before his retirement in 2001.
After retirement he still served Live Oak Church in Denham Springs until 2021.
He graduated from Centenary College and Southern Methodist, Perkins School of Theology.

Mary Cathereine “Mickie” Newport Francioni, age 93, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022.
Born in New Orleans, she graduated from Dominican High School and married “the boy around the corner,” whom she was married to for 72 years.
A homemaker most of her life, she was active in many groups, including the St. Raphael’s Parent Club, Girl Scouts, Brother Martin Parents Club, Our Lady of Lourdes Church and choir.
She and her husband were presented the Order of St. Louis Medallion for dedication to the Catholic Church, and she was also active with the Bayou Liberty Garden Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the UDC, the Republican Women’s Club and the Red Hat Society.

Howard Ray, age 75, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022.
A native of Baton Rouge, he moved to Slidell at the age of 12 and never left. He was a Vietnam veteran who served in the Army, then later attended Delgado Community College and worked for Chilton Credit Corporation as a systems administrator.
He was a musician who played several instruments, played in bands and loved watching LSU and the Saints, as well as golfing, gardening, classic cars and wood working.

David Lawrence “Trumpet Man” Laudun, age 74, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022.
A native of New Orleans, he was an avid fisherman and trumpet player his entire life, playing the trumpet and the French horn.

Joan Coldewy Gros, age 83, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
Born in Baltimore, MD, she attended school in New Orleans and reigned as Queen of New Orleans’ Spring Fiesta in 1960.
She lived around the world as her husband served in the Navy, and spent 27 years in Alexandria, VA, where she had a long career as a realtor.

Fred Thomas Gentry, age 82, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022.
A native of New Orleans, he was a retiree of Cooper/T. Smith & Sons where he worked as a crane operator on the Mississippi River.
He was an avid fisherman, especially fly fishing, and also enjoyed watching old Westerns, camping and bowling.

Donna May Grimm, age 78, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022.
Born in West Newton, PA, she graduated from West Newton High School.

Mildred May Anclade Harrington, age 91, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022.
A native of New Orleans, she had been a resident of Slidell for the past 40 years and was a parishioner of St. Genevieve’s Catholic Church.
