SLIDELL — The Northshore Lady Panthers visited Slidell High for Slidell’s senior night and escaped with a 2-1 victory.
The Lady Tigers were obviously fired up as they scored in the first three minutes of the match on a 10-foot shot by Tory Rizan. Nothshore responded with two goals before the half. One came from Haly St. Amant and the other from Sam Jordan.
In the second half, both teams had excellent scoring opportunities with counter attacks and breakaways, but neither team was able to score. With each attack, both teams showed their superiority on defense.
At that point, this match started to resemble the second half from the previous meeting between these two teams – several opportunities, tough defense and very few goals. After a tough second half that included no scoring, the final game horn sounded with Northshore winning.
“My girls played hard throughout the game,” Slidell head coach Tanna McNeese said, “But we have to stay focused and play smart with a lead.”
