RALPH CRAIG COOPER JR.
Ralph Craig Cooper Jr., of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on January 14, 2023 at the age of 81. He was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, born on November 5, 1941 to his loving parents, the late Ralph Joseph Cooper and Hilda Ziegler Cooper. Ralph is the beloved father of Darrin Cooper (Denise), Lance Cooper (Christine), Kim Narcisse, Kevin Narcisse (Janice), Chet Cooper (Lintoi), and Hilda Cooper; cherished grandfather of Garrett Cooper, Logan Cooper, Chloe Cooper, Devin Crockett, Dezmond Crockett, Juan Narcisse, Jalana Narcisse, Jaliyah Honore, Ariana Cooper, Christalyn Franklin, Lindsey Franklin, and Ronald Franklin; great-grandfather of Anthony Ussin, Zoe Franklin, Cannon Franklin, and Elijah Franklin; and brother of Kathy Cousin, Jean Augustine, Maxine Faciane, and Phyllis Bos. He is also survived by a host of extended family members and friends.
Ralph was a carpenter by trade. He enjoyed watching football and baseball games in his retirement. Ralph will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, January 23, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Genevieve Church in Slidell. Melissa Anne Zeringue Cannata, age 56, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023.
A native of New Orleans, she graduated from Northshore Technical College and had a career as an LPN, employed with Trinity Trace Community Care Center.
She loved Jesus and was a member of True Life Church, and enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach.

Richard M. “Griff” Griffin, age 76, of Lacombe, LA, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022.
A native of New Orleans, he was also a longtime resident of Metairie and graduated from DeLaSalle High School, then Southeastern in 1968, where he was a member of KDT fraternity. He was employed by 3M for 40 years, retiring in 2009.
He was a longtime member of Metairie Country Club, OTMAC, and numerous antique car clubs.
Patricia Ann Axtell Hamrick, age 86, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
Born in Seattle, WA, she spent time as an open range cook on a ranch and traveled extensively on the West coast. She was an accomplished flutist and violist who played for the Slidell Symphony, as well as performing for Slidell Little Theater, Minnacapelli’s Dinner Theater, and Slidell Dance. Theatre.
James McGrath, age 75, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.
Born in Evergreen Park, IL, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard and served 31 years as Special Agent and Master Chief Petty Officer before working for Proctor & Gamble.
He was a volunteer for animal rescue groups, and also volunteered to visit assisted living facilities.
Maurice F. Durel, Jr., age 81, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.
Born in New Orleans, he was most remembered as a prankster and jokester and enjoyed his morning meetings with friends for breakfast, especially loving his fried eggs and coffee.
He was an outdoorsman and loved working in his vegetable garden, as well as going on cruises.
Mary Ruth Dust Nadler, age 85, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.
Born in Buffalo, NY, she held many jobs throughout her life, but spent the last 16 as a dedicated employee at Lowe’s in Slidell.
Virginia Lee Drennan, age 96, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.
A native of Baltimore, MD, she was a Liberal Arts graduate from Stevens College in Baltimore and was an accomplished ballroom dance instructor with the Arthur Murray Dance Center.
She enjoyed dancing, drawing, reading and solving crossword puzzles.
Judith Elaine Lenz, age 82, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023.
Born in Wisconsin, she later moved to Cocoa Beach, FL, before moving to Slidell in 1977.
She worked at Stennis Space Center for 15 years before retiring, and had an insatiable curiosity of learning, reading and organizing family vacations.
Wayne Germann, age 81, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.
Born in Woodlawn, IL, he enlisted in the Navy at the age of 19 and served for 20 years, achieving the rank of Senior Chief and serving in the Vietnam War. He traveled all around the world, even to the Antarctic and served in several squadrons before working as a civil servant for DISA and DFAS after his military time.
