KRISTIAN LEANN BILLIOT

Kristian Leann Billiot, a longtime resident of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on June 15, 2023. Born on October 24, 1975, at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California, Kristian touched the lives of many during her 47 years. She was the devoted wife of the late John Paul Billiot II, with whom she shared 24 years of marriage and many treasured memories.
Kristian is the cherished mother of John Paul Billiot III, Hannah Lora Barnes, and Royal Raymond Billiot; proud grandmother of Margo Amelia Barnes; beloved daughter of Cynthia Gest Marr; and loving daughter-in-law to Susan Drew Billiot and John Paul Billiot. She also leaves behind her father, David Joseph Creech, a host of extended family members, and many dear friends, all of whom will fondly remember her warm presence in their lives.
Kristian earned an associate of journalism degree from Palomar College, where she honed her communication skills and developed a passion for storytelling. As the owner of Northshore Lactation Connections, LLC, she provided invaluable resources and assistance to countless families in the community, making a lasting impact on their lives. Kristian was also an active member of various lactation communities, where she contributed her knowledge, expertise, and compassion to help new mothers navigate the challenges of breastfeeding.
A parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Kristian was deeply involved in church activities and dedicated to her faith. Her unwavering devotion to her spiritual beliefs was a guiding force in her life and served as an inspiration to many. In her free time, Kristian enjoyed gardening and found solace in nurturing plants and flowers, which mirrored her nurturing nature towards her family and friends. She loved playing with her pets, which brought joy and companionship into her life.
Kristian’s legacy will live on through the many lives she touched, both personally and professionally. Her unwavering dedication to her family, community, and faith will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. As we remember Kristian, we celebrate her passion, her faith, and her love, which will forever remain in our hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Saint Margret Mary Church in Slidell. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Kristian will be laid to rest in the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery aside her husband, John, following services. Thomas William Bass, age 79, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023.
Born in Lake Charles, LA, he served in the U.S. Navy for six years, then had a long career with the railroad in Denver, South Carolina and New Orleans, retiring as superintendent with CSX.
He was a passionate enthusiast of gardening, fishing and history, and enjoyed camping and learning about history that he liked to share with others.

Joyce Julia Zuviceh Baker, age 79, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023.
Born in the 9th Ward of New Orleans, she was a bridge tender with DOTD and a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.
She enjoyed playing volleyball and softball and coached her daughter’s teams in New Orleans. She was a parishioner with St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Slidell.

Pamela Castay Young, age 65, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.
A native of New Orleans, she graduated from Holy Angels High School and carried her faith into all aspects of her life. She worked in accounting with Murphy Oil and Clearwood Pool Supplies.
In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking.

Bessie Mae Burtch Gabriel, age 84, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023.
Born in New Orleans, she moved to Slidell in 1979.
For 40 years she was closely involved with supporting families through St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Marie Stunder Jones, age 87, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023.
A native of Philadelphia, PA, she moved to New Orleans in 1958 before moving to Slidell in 2021.
