Matthew Wayne Pace, age 37, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.
A native of Slidell, he attended St. Margaret Mary, Our Lady of Lourdes and Salmen High.
He enjoyed cooking at local restaurants and was a gifted wordsmith who wrote poems and narratives.
Walter “Jimmy” Champagne, age 85, of Pearl River, LA, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023.
Born in New Orleans, he graduated from Holy Cross High and went on to LSU where he lived in Tiger Stadium.
He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves and was a wharfman at Mobile Oil, retiring after 30 years.
He was a professional world champion decoy duck carver who won many awards.

Born in New Orleans, she was a devout Catholic who especially looked to the Blessed Virgin Mary for guidance.
She had a great love for literature and was a wonderful cook.
