Panthers on hot streak in district

SLIDELL — The Northshore Panthers shut out Fontainebleau 6-0 in a District 6-5A game at home.
The Panthers jumped on the board early by scoring one run in the first inning.
JD Evans pitched a complete game in the win. He struck out three and allowed only two hits.
Northshore had 11 hits in the game, which came from Blake Way with one home run and two RBIs; Parker Morris who had one RBI off two hits; and Dane Pedersen who had two RBIs in the win.
The Panthers are now 15-12 overall and have won three games in a row.
In another recent game, NHS won against Ponchatoula 6-2. Michael McKinney was the winning pitcher after going seven innings, giving up just one run, and striking out three.
The big hitters for the Panthers were leadoff hitter Way who went 2-for-4 with three RBIs; Morris who went 1-for-4 with an RBI; and Hayden Nugent who finished 1-for-4 with one RBI.
Northshore scored two runs in the first, one in the fourth and three in the fifth to secure the victory.
In another victory for the Panthers, Northshore stomped Covington 11-1 after the home team’s offense exploded.

JP Lagreco led his team with four RBIs, while Nico Cuccia and Pederson each chipped in with three RBIs. Way also had one RBI in the contest.

Pedersen was also the winning pitcher after going five innings, giving up two walks, one earned run, and striking out six.

The Panthers will play next at home today against Hammond in a district game. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
