SLIDELL — Southwest Mississippi Community College guards Katrina Littlepage, who graduated from Slidell High School, and April Levy helped the Southwest Lady Bears to one of the program’s best seasons ever. Their efforts also helped them earn individual honors which were handed out at the recent meeting of the MACJC coaches.
The Lady Bears made appearances in the MACJC state tournament and NCJAA Region 23 tournament, and they had an 11-game winning streak at one point during the season.
Littlepage, a 5-6 guard from Slidell, led the team with 16.6 points per game and hit 73 percent of her free throws. She was named to the All-Region team and was also a 1st Team All-State selection.
Both players were named to the All-Tournament team following last week’s Region 23 tournament.
“We are very proud of the individual recognition that Katrina and April have received. They are very deserving of these honors,” Southwest head coach Brent Harris said. “We all view this as team recognition as well because good teams receive more awards and their teammates had a lot to do with their success.”
