SLIDELL — The season ended for the Salmen Spartans baseball team against DeRidder High in a 3-2 game.
No. 22 Salmen lost in seven innings to the No. 11 DeRidder on the road.
Salmen had a 2-1 lead after scoring two runs in the top of the fifth. But in the bottom half of that same inning, DeRidder put up two runs to take a 3-2 lead.
DeRidder scored one run in the bottom of the fourth inning off Ross Fayard who went 2/3 of an inning and was given the loss. However, that one run was credited to starting pitcher Jeff Crenshaw.
Fayard gave up two earned runs himself, though, and Drew Kennedy pitched the final 2 1/3 innings of the contest.
In the playoff game, Ross Himber had two RBIs off one hit, and Noel Cheneau had one hit as well.
Salmen finishes the season 13-18 overall, and finished the season 6-4 in their last 10 games.
