COVINGTON — The Slidell Lady Tigers stormed into Covington and left with a 3-0 win over the host Northlake Christian Lady Wolverines 25-23, 25-22, 25-23.
With the loss, NCS fell to 0-2 on the season while Slidell improved to 1-0 in the early going.
The Lady Wolverines fought hard throughout the contest but numerous miscues led to their loss.
“We made too many errors,” said Northlake coach Shannon Puder. “We had some outstanding play from our eighth graders but our passing game left a lot to be desired.”
One of the eighth graders Puder mentioned was Alaina Hardy who had 12 kills, 15 digs and nine assists.
Puder summed it up saying, “Our girls hung in there against a scrappy Slidell team that played well. We are a very young team that starts two eighth graders and we have only three seniors on the squad so we have a lot of work ahead of us if we want to get better.”
