SLIDELL — The Salmen boy’s soccer team lost a tight soccer match to the Riverdale last week 2-1 in a non-district contest.
With the loss, Salmen’s record falls to 5-2 on the season.
The Spartans took the 1-0 lead in the first half on a goal by L.J. Leonard.
His goal came as a result of an indirect kick from 30 yards out.
The Spartans couldn’t hold on in the second half giving up two, unanswered goals to the Rebels.
“Riverdale out hustled us to the ball,” Spartan coach Tim Rogers said.
“They got some breaks in the second half and we didn’t.”
Salmen finished its non-district play against Pope John Paul II and will enter District 6-II play on Friday, January 9 when they travel to take on the Lakeshore Titans.
