Mary McArthur Finn, a former resident of Slidell, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at the Serenity House Personal Care Home in Metairie, La.
She was 91 years old.
She was the wife of the late John J. Finn; mother of the late John Jacob Finn; daughter of the late John F. McArthur and Julia Vidal McArthur; and sister of the late Elva Sanchez, John McArthur and James McArthur.
She is preceded in death by her granddaughter and survived by her great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Finn was a native of New Orleans, a former longtime resident of Slidell, and most recently a resident of River Ridge, La.
Funeral services were held at Honaker Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 18.

Jack Edward Stevens, born December 27, 1932, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2013, after a long illness.
His wife Mary Sharon Stevens, and his daughter Stephanie Ann Stevens preceded him in death.
His sister Linda Smith, children Scarlett Walker, Amber Guillot, Lindsey Wolfe, and Steve Stevens, grandchildren, Britt Johnson, Hope Walker, Caitlyn Grover, Collin Guillot, Chris Stevens, and Corey Stevens, and great-grandchildren Nevin Johnson and Cora Walker, survived him.
Funeral services were held at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell on Tuesday, June 18.

Mae S. Weber, of Slidell, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2013.
She was 88 years old.
She was the wife of William C. Weber Sr.; mother of William C. Weber Jr. (wife Linda), and Gary J. Weber (wife Mary); and daughter of the late Albert J. and Annie Flemming Stigler.
She is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A native of New Orleans, Weber had been a resident of Slidell for the past 25 years. She was a parishioner of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Memorial services were held at Honaker Funeral Home in?Slidell on Monday, June 17.

Lawrence Eugene Gaines passed away at his residence in Pearl River on Friday, June 14, 2013.
He was 69 years old.
He was a self-employed master plumber.
Lawrence is survived by his wife, Darlene Singletary Gaines; three children, Kyle Gaines Sr., Colleen Gaines Hart and Kristen Gaines Esculano; step-sons, Thomas Ray Jones Jr., Jimmy Dwayne Jones, Wilbur Russell Jones and Ronald and Donald Jones; and three sisters, Louise Williams, Alice Alford and Judy Butts.
He is also survived by six grandchildren, Jeremy, Jacob, Jered, Bryce, Gabrielle, and Little Kyle; one great-granddaughter, Sophia; and a host of step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph Eugene Gaines and Bessie “Big Mama” Gaines; and two sisters, Patricia Owens and Dorothy Swedberg.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 17 from the chapel of D.T. Williams Funeral Home, 67525 Hwy. 41, Pearl River.

Donald “Don”?Hessbruegge, of Slidell, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013, at Ochsner Northshore Hospital in Slidell.
He was 61 years old.
He was the husband of Sharon L. Hessbruegge for the past 27 years; and father of Ann F. Summerlin (Brian), Josh Latch (Emily), Penny Robertson (Larry Byrd) and the late Jonn C. Troyani.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Sadie Lynn Robertson, Drew Summerlin, Tayden Latch, Jack Robertson, Gavin Scott Robertson, Margaret Ann Summerlin, and Harper James Latch; and five sisters and one brother.
Hessbruegge was a native of Portland, Oregon and a resident of Slidell since 1985. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a medic during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked as a Paramedic for Mobile Medic, Amserv, Emergency One, Priority One, Acadian Ambulance Service and the New Orleans EMS. He also worked in the Emergency at North-shore Regional Medical Center.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell, on Saturday, June 22 at 11 a.m.
Visitation will be from 9 until 11 a.m.

George “Bunk”?Luke Johnson, Gunnery Sergeant, U.S.M.C., Retired, of Slidell, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013.
He was 75 years old.
He was the husband of Marie Miller Johnson; father of John Michael Johnson; brother of Connie Reese of Macon, Ga., the late Robert M. Johnson Jr., Mabel Johnson, Pearl Johnson and Donald Johnson; and brother-in-law of Perry Miller (Vena), Steven Miller (Becky), John K. Miller (Debra), the late McDaniel Miller, James Miller, Herman Miller, Sydney Miller(Carol), Jean Miller and Leon P. Miller.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Britt M. Johnson, Jacquelyn M. Johnson, Joseph M. Johnson, Joshua M. Johnson and Charlie T. Johnson, and a great grandson, Nevin Johnson.
He served two combat tours in Vietnam.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell, on Thursday, June 20 at 11 a.m.

Naomi V. Horn passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013, in Slidell from complications of Alzheimers disease.
She was 63 years old.
Born February 12, 1950 in Ocala, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Rev. Clyde and Lavada Nichols.
Horn was a telephone operator for many years.
She is also preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Keyt.
She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Keyt (Jason), and Kerri Dunn (Lance) of Slidell; son, Wade Horn of Slidell; brother, Gerald Nichols (Sharon) of Murphy, North Carolina; and nine grandchildren, Alexis, Jaylyn, Savannah, Kelly, and J.J. Keyt, Austin Duffey, Gage Dunn, Addison Dunn and Maci Horn.
Funeral services were on Friday, June 14 at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow.

James Arthur Harvel Sr. passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013, at 3:27 p.m. surrounded by his children and loved ones.
He was 76 years old.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Christine Moore Harvel; son, Matthew V. Harvel; parents, Arthur Reynolds Harvel and Laura Wyble Harvel; and brother, David P. Harvel.
Harvel is survived by Catherine Harvel Lucas, James A. Harvel Jr., Bonnie Beham and James A. Beham, Lonnie Davis III, Kathy A. Burge, Chandler R. Harvel and Jamie H. Lassiter. He also had 32 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings, Lois H. Guillory, Leslie Harvel Sr., and Betty H. Smith.
Harvel retired after 26 years from Tidewater Marine as a chief engineer on a supply vessel.
Funeral services were held on June 18 from the chapel of D.T. Williams Funeral Home, Pearl River.

Charles Leon Bourdonnay Jr., of Slidell, passed away on Thursday June 13, 2013.
He was 65 years old.
Bourdonnay is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diane Spain Bourdonnay; children, Dina Bourdonnay Davis and Charles Raymond Bourdonnay; grandchild, Caitlyn Ann Sanders; great-grandchildren, Makenna and Karsyn Plaisance; brother, John Bourdonnay; sister, Barbara Bourdonnay O’Donell; and lifelong friend Lanny McIntyre.
Funeral services were held on June 15 at Williams Funeral Home, 67525 Hwy. 41, Pearl River.

Interment was at Hickory Memorial Gardens, Pearl River, LA.
