PEARL RIVER – Let it be said that the Pearl River Rebels always come to play regardless of who the opponent is.
They left it all on the field last Friday night going down in defeat 52-32 to the Lakeshore Titans in District 8-4A action at Rebel Field.
The Rebels (4-5, 0-3) got on the board first when Jacob Guedimin scored to put the Rebels up 7-0.
Lakeshore answered with a touchdown of their own when Randy Raymond scored to narrow the Rebel lead to 7-6.
Hunter Martensson added a field goal to extend Pearl River’s lead to 10-6.
The Titans (4-5, 1-2) answered again with a touchdown to gain a 13-10 margin.
That lead was short lived as Courtney Moore scampered 58 yard to regain the lead at 17-13.
Lakeshore then scored on the last play of the first half on a 45-yard touchdown run to go up 19-17 at the half.
In the second half, the Titans intercepted a Rebel pass and converted it into a touchdown to extend their lead to 26-17.
Another Titan touchdown made it 33-17 before Pearl River’s Al Dauth caught a 35-yard touchdown pass to narrow the Titan margin to 33-25 after Guedimin took it in for a two-point conversion.
Lakeshore would go on to score 20 more points while Pearl River could only manage one more touchdown with that coming on a touchdown pass to Jermyron Alexander to end it at 53-32 Lakeshore.
Rebel quarterback Rickey Jessup hit on 6-of-9 passes for 102 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

Moore had 126 yards on 19 carries and one touchdown and Guedimin carried eight times for 57 yards and a touchdown. Dauth had two catches for 49 yards and a touchdown and Alexander hauled in three grabs for 60 yards and a touchdown.
