SLIDELL — It was an easy win for the Slidell?Lady Tigers as the local softball team won 11-4 against Covington in a District 6-5A game.
Tamara Larch was the winning pitcher in the contest. She is Slidell’s ace and pitches every district game.
The Lady Tigers are 14-6 overall and 5-2 in league play.
Hitting-wise, Cassidy Comstock went 2-for-3; and Aaliyah Burdine finished 3-for-5 for Slidell in the game.
The Lady Tigs took a big lead, scoring eight runs in the second inning. The team finished with 13 hits.
“We had great momentum about beating Northshore, and then we had a bye on Thursday and the Saturday game got rained out. We had to regain that momentum that much later. We are making a run for it,” Slidell head softball coach Robyn Herdliska said.
One of Slidell’s biggest games of the season will come on Tuesday against Ponchatoula. Larch will start that game, and Herdliska said that will be a true test for her team.
