Phillips comes in second

SLIDELL — Matt Phillips finished with the best score on the final day of the Greater Slidell Golf Championship to end up in second place.
Phillips finished with an overall gross score of 227, which was 13 strokes behind winner Robbie Rhodes, but Phillips shot a 73 at Oak Harbor to finish in second.
Phillips shot a 76 on the first day at Pinewood, and then finished with a 78 after the second day at Royal.
Kevin Rea was in second place heading into the final day of the tourney, but shot an 87 at Oak Harbor to land in seventh place with an overall score of 235.
Coming in third, just one stroke behind Phillips, was Ron Jeandron, who shot fairly even all three days. Jeandron shot a 74 on Friday at Pinewood, and then hit a 77 on the last two days to finish with 228 as his overall score.
Finishing out the championship flight was Darren Fuselier who hit a 269 overall. He shot 91 at Pinewood, 86 at Royal, and 92 at Oak Harbor.
