SLIDELL — Northshore’s Lady Panthers won a big District 4-I contest over the Fontainebleau Lady Bulldogs 3-1 (25-14, 25-18, 11-25, 25-23) at the Panther gym to start the week.
Northshore coach, Danny Davis, was pleased with the win and thought that his squad rose to the challenge.
“I thought our girls did a great job of refocusing on what they had to do after the third set blowout to pull out a good win against a scrappy, no quitting Fontainebleau team.”
Several Panthers had great games.
Sabrina Buelle led the defense with 20 digs while Hailey Kirkpatrick and Hannah Epperley each had 13. Annelise Vollenweider rounded out the defensive show with 10 digs while Carly Merry excelled at the net with four blocks.
Hailey Kirkpatrick had a big night on the offensive side of the net hitting three aces and pounding 19 kills and Merry also slammed nine kills.
Epperley also led the offense with a great 39 assist night.
For Fontainebleau, Emily Campbell and Tiffany Marlbrough each collected 10 digs while Christine Kugelman added 13 kills.
Emily Campbell led the Bulldog offense with 20 assists.

Northshore beats Ursuline
Nothing comes easy.
Just ask the Northshore Lady Panther volleyball team.
It took five sets and loads of endurance for the Lady Panthers to take a 3-2 (25-22, 10-25, 22-25, 25-23, 15-7) win over host Ursuline Academy in a non-district contest.
Northshore now stands at 13-5 overall and 3-0 in District 4-I play. The Lady Panthers are on a roll having won 12 games in a row.
“I thought we did a great job of settling down to squeak out a win in the 4th set and carried that momentum into the 5th set to pull out the match against a very good and scrappy Ursuline team,” Northshore coach Danny Davis said.
Northshore’s Sabrina Buelle finished with a team-high 37 digs while Hailey Kirkpatrick and Hannah Epperley recorded 14 digs each. Annelise Vollenweider added 13 digs and 13 kills. Kirkpatrick led the team with three aces and 25 kills while Carly Merry had a team-high three blocks. Epperley finished with an impressive 48 assists night.
