SLIDELL — First Baptist Christian came out on the losing end of their third game of the young season falling to Ecole Classique 31-24.
The Eagles controlled the first half leading 14-11 but came out flat in the third period allowing EC to get back into the game and take an 18-20 lead.
FBC made a late run but came up short to lose by seven as poor free throw shooting down the stretch proved to be their undoing.
The Eagles (0-3) converted only 6-of-17 shots from the foul line.
David Locklear led the Eagles with 10 points, five steals followed by Quinten Wesley with eight points, two blocks and six rebounds. Harrison Fredericks had four points, four steals, one block and 11 rebounds while Jarrod Jones had two points and three rebounds.
The Eagles will host Pine on Monday, December 1, at 6:00 pm in the FBC gym.

SLIDELL — The First Baptist Christian Eagles let one slip away last week losing to the Patrick Taylor Tigers 47-37 in a non-conference event held at the Eagle gym.
The Eagles, who at one time held a 12-point lead, let the Tigers back into it with a number of turnovers down the stretch.
FBC led throughout the first period thanks to some outstanding play by David Locklear who had 10 points.
But despite that effort FBC fell behind for the first time 14-12 with 5:30 to go in the half.
Thanks to back-to-back treys by FBC’s Zach Frost, the Eagles got back on top 23-17 at halftime.
FBC held onto a 30-25 lead going into the fourth period but the Tigers tied it at 34-34 with 4:00 left in the game.
From then on it was a downhill battle for the Eagles as Tigers took advantage of several key turnovers to take back the lead 43-34 and go on to win 47-37.
The Tigers outscored the Eagles 22-7 in the fourth period.
Leasing the way for Patrick Taylor were Jawan Fox and Morgan Brown with eight points apiece.
Locklear led all scorers with 14 points followed by Quinten Wesley with nine and Frost with eight. Jarrod Jones also contributed four points.
The Tigers hit on 20-of-73 from the field (27%) while the Eagles hit 16-of-55 (29%).

SLIDELL — The First Baptist Christian boys’ basketball team lost to South Plaquemines last week 59-36 and dropped their season record of 0-2 after another loss to Patrick Taylor.
Both games were non-district events.
The FBC girls’ team also lost to South Plaquemines 62-37 in a non-district game. Their record now stands at 0-1 with a home game coming up next week against Belle Chasse.
