SLIDELL – In the opening game for both teams last Tuesday night, the Northshore Panthers (1-0) took advantage of some outstanding pitching and timely hits to take a 3-2 road victory over the Pope John Paul II Jaguars (0-1).
Northshore’s Dylan Reeves recorded the win going six innings on the mound giving up three hits, no runs, two walks and five strikeouts.
For the Panthers’, Josh Marques, Blake Way, and Gary Cavallo each had one RBI. Cavallo went 1-for-2 with one run, Way went 1-for-3 with a double and Marques was 1-for-4 with a home run.
The Jaguars collected four hits with T.J. Hoff, Anthony Chapetta, Joe Riggio, and Sean Price each with a hit. Hoff had a triple while Chapetta and Riggio had RBI’s for the Jags.
